Apple, gone but not forgotten while trapped in a Mexican hellhole, is still the most hated chick in New York. She's low on friends and can't seem to climb back up on her pedestal. Review
This novel's (Return of the Cartier Cartel) big draw is betrayal that includes, oh, let's see, at least four double-crosses. Santiago's story, thick with conniving thieves, will keep readers hooked to the last chapter. --Library Journal
About the Author
Nisa Santiago came bursting onto the literary scene in 2009 with her debut title, Cartier Cartel. The book garnered rave reviews and left her readers wanting more. She followed up with the sequel, Return of the Cartier Cartel - which turned into a national bestseller. The Library Journal declared that Santiago's sequel, Return of the Cartier Cartel Will keep readers hooked to the last chapter.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, and now living in Harlem, the author is moving at full speed with her writing endeavors. Coined the Duchess of Hop-Hip lit, Santiago humbly admits, I'm just grateful to be doing what I love as a career and not just a hobby. Her latest novel, Bad Apple The Baddest Chick is slated for an October 2011 release date. The author emphatically states that her decision to start a new series instead of penning part 3 to Cartier Cartel was a brave one. My readers love Cartier and they wanted more. Santiago wants her readers to know that she has so many stories to tell and shows no signs of slowing down. Dirty Money Honey is an anthology with her peers, Erica Hilton and Kim K., Melodrama Publishing's new trinity of authors.

Checkmate

Checkmate picks up with all the drama that Coca Kola left us with. Apple is trapped in the whorehouse waiting on Chico to hopefully rescue her, while being degraded more and more by the day. Even though I didn't like Apple you couldn't help but to feel sorry for her, with all that she was going through. Kola is still hurting from Cross's betrayal, but still flooding the streets with product. Eduardo (Kola's supplier) is still trying his best to get her to be his woman. Edge was up to his usual antics trying to get at Kola and trying to turn Cross against her as well. We are introduced to some new characters like Two-Face and he definitely lives up to his name. And Denise, the twins mother, is still up to no good and getting on everyone's nerves. There is still a war going on between Chico and Kola, but while Chico constantly thinks of Apple, Kola could care less. Kola's enemies are stacking up by the day, while Apple is still plotting her revenge. Will Apple make it out of the whorehouse? Will Kola lose the war against Chico? I read this book in one sitting and I wasn't ready for it to end. People are slipping and getting careless and I can't wait to see who will finally claim the throne. If you liked Bad Apple and Coca Kola then you will love this one.

Miss Santiago has done it again and continues to amaze. This is the third series of the Kola and Apple. The book picks up exactly where Koca Kola left off. I have to say it was a tough read because of the circumstances surrounding Apple. Like they say karma can come back and bite you in the ass.I cant wait for the fourth part. I hope Miss Santiago releases it soon. She is an excellent writer and I highly recommend all her books.
